Revert the On Future Redeploys setting

Before you begin

Caution: Failure to revert this setting may result in inconsistent security configurations when your Web application and EJB resources are redeployed. Therefore, be sure to perform this step before you restart your server. If you do not perform this step or perform this step incorrectly, you will see the following message the next time you load the Policy Editor page: The information presented below may not be accurate. To ensure that you are viewing accurate information, you may need to delete and redeploy your WebLogic resources.

To revert the On Future Redeploys setting so that your security settings will not be overridden by deployment descriptors:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane, select Security Realms.
  3. On the Summary of Security Realms page select the name of the realm (for example, myrealm)
  4. On the General tab, On Future Deploys drop-down menu, select Ignore Roles and Polices From DD

You are telling WebLogic Server that for all future redeploys of the specified module, security will be controlled using the Administration Console, not deployment descriptors.

  5. Under Configuration > General in the On Future Deploys field, select Ignore roles and policies from DD.

You are telling WebLogic Server that for all future redeploys of EJB and Web Applications in this realm, security will be controlled using the Administration Console, not deployment descriptors.

  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
