Set the default security deployment model

This task describes how to set the default security model used by the Deployment Assistant in the Administration Console. WebLogic Server lets you choose from among several security models when you deploy or redeploy an application. These security models apply only when you deploy Web application or EJB resources, or an Enterprise application containing either of these resources. For more information, see Choose a Security model

To set the default deployment security model for EJB and Web applications:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane select Security Realms.
  3. On the Summary of Security Realms page select the name of the realm (for example, myrealm)
  4. On the Settings for the realm page select Configuration > General.
  5. In the Security DD Model field the model you want to use as the default deployment model.
  6. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
