A Web Application Project is an Eclipse Java project that contains the source code, web pages, images, resources and configuration files for building a Java program that can be deployed to a Web Container. The IDE allows existing Eclipse projects to be used as Web Application Projects, the creation of Web Application Projects from pre-packaged templates, or the creation of Web Application Projects from existing Web Applications in either exploded or compressed form.
