Supported Platforms for BEA Workshop™ Studio Product Family Version 3.0

The BEA Workshop Studio product family consists of:

• BEA Workshop Studio
• BEA Workshop for JSF
• BEA Workshop for Struts
• BEA Workshop JSP Editor

All of these products are plugins to the Eclipse IDE framework and can be added to an existing Eclipse installation or installed as a standalone product with their own copy of Eclipse. If you install as a standalone product, Eclipse 3.1 is installed.

Workshop JSP Editor is available as a free download. Workshop for Struts and Workshop for JSF include the JSP Editor functionality. Workshop Studio includes all three products.

Development Platform

All Workshop Studio products require the following platform to run the IDE:

• Microsoft Windows 2000/XP or Linux Red Hat 9 or Fedora Core 2 or higher
• 1 GB of RAM
• Eclipse 3.0 or Eclipse 3.1.x
• IBM RAD 6.0.x, RWD 6.0.x
• JRE 1.4.x or higher on Windows and 1.5 or higher on Linux

All Workshop Studio products support iterative testing (debugging and deployment on servlet containers) with any of the following servers:

• Apache Jakarta Tomcat 5.5.x, 5.0.x, 4.1.x or 4.0.x
• BEA WebLogic Server 9.x, 8.1, or 7.0
• Caucho Resin 3.0
• IBM WebSphere 5.x or 6
• JBoss 4.0.x and 3.2.x
• Mortbay Jetty 5.1.x

Workshop Studio can be used to work with any SQL database that has a JDBC driver, including:

• Oracle
• DB2
• MySQL
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Cloudscape/Derby
• Hypersonic
• Ingres
• Sybase

Standards and Frameworks

All Workshop Studio products incorporate the BEA Workshop JSP Editor which supports:

• JSP: 2.0, 1.2 and 1.1
• JSP Standard Tag Library (JSTL): 1.1 and 1.0

The Workshop Studio and Workshop for Struts products support:

• Struts: 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0

The Workshop Studio and Workshop for JSF products support:

• JavaServer Faces (JSF): 1.1
• Sun Reference Implementation 1.1
• MyFaces: 1.1

The Workshop Studio product also supports:
