Setting Alarm Manager Load Frequency

A system preference called Alarm Manager Load Frequency determines how frequently the calendar alarm queries the server for alarm-enabled appointments. The default value is 60 minutes, but you might want to change this time to better suit your business needs. Querying the server less frequently results in fewer SQL calls. However, each SQL call takes longer to execute. In certain cases, this trade-off results in improved performance. (Also, if the alarm frequency is less than the session time-out set in the eapps.cfg file, sessions never time out.) For information about how to edit system preferences, see Setting System Preferences.
