Adding Help to a View


Adding help to a view is very similar to adding help to a screen.

To add help to a view

  • Complete Adding Help to a Screen with the following modifications:
    • Modify or create a view instead of a screen. For more information, see Process of Creating a View.
    • Define the Help Identifier property of the view. For example, for the Opportunity Detail - Contacts View, use ID_VIEW_OPPORTUNITY_DETAIL_CONTACTS as the Help Identifier. If you leave the Help Identifier property empty for a view, then Siebel CRM uses the help that is defined as the default help topic for the screen.
    • Use the following properties for the Help Id object:
      Property
      Value

      Name

      Value of the Help Identifier property of the view.

      For example, ID_VIEW_OPPORTUNITY_DETAIL_CONTACTS.

      Project

      Repository Help Id

      Type

      Screen

      HTML Help URL

      Name of the file that will contain the help content.

      For example, help/siebopportunities_detailcontacts.htm.

    • Compile the Repository Help Id project and the view. In this example, you must compile the Repository Help Id project and the view named Opportunity Detail - Contacts View.
