Using the Attachment Feature


The attachment feature allows you to keep supporting material for individual records. You can associate an attachment with individual account and contact records. If you edit files attached to a record, then your changes are saved when you step off the attachment record in the Siebel Mobile application.

Attaching Files to Records Using the New File Button

The following procedure shows you how to attach files, such as, Microsoft Outlook email messages, Microsoft Word documents, and image files to an account or contact record using the New File button.

To attach a file to a record using the New File button

  1. Tap Accounts or Contacts on the application banner, and then tap a record in the respective list.

    The record details are displayed in the work area.

  2. Attach an existing file as follows:
    1. Tap Attachment in the work area, and then tap New File.
    2. Tap Choose Existing, select an existing file to attach to the record, and then tap OK.
  3. Attach a new photo or video as follows:
    1. Tap Attachment in the work area, and then tap New File.
    2. Tap Take Photo or Video, take an instant photo or record an instant video to attach to the record, and then tap OK.
  4. Update an existing attached file as follows:
    1. Tap Attachment in the work area, and then tap the record that you want to update.
    2. Tap edit, update the file information as required, and then tap Save when finished.

      For example, you can change the name of the attached file and enter comments.

  5. To open and view an existing attached file, tap the down arrow icon next to the attachment name.

Attaching URLs to Records Using the New URL File Button

The following procedure shows you how to attach a URL to an account or contact record, using the New URL button.

To attach a URL to a record using the New URL button

  1. Tap Accounts or Contacts on the application banner, and then tap a record in the respective list.

    The record details are displayed in the work area.

  2. Attach a URL as follows:
    1. Tap Attachment in the work area, and then tap New URL.
    2. Enter the URL address in the URL field, and then tap Add.
  3. Update the details of an existing attached URL as follows:
    1. Tap Attachment in the work area, and then tap the URL record that you want to update.
    2. Tap edit, update the URL information as required, and then tap Save when finished.

      For example, you can change the URL address and enter comments.

  4. To navigate to an existing URL address, tap the down arrow icon next to the URL address (attachment name).
