Siebel Mobile Guide: Disconnected is Not Available in Seibel Innovation Pack 2013

Major architectural changes have been made to the Siebel Mobile product since Innovation Pack 2013. Oracle strongly recommends that customers should uptake Innovation Pack 2016 before deploying the Siebel Mobile Disconnected solution to end-users.

CAUTION:  Customers who use Siebel Mobile Disconnected on a release prior to Innovation Pack 2016 risk losing all configuration changes when upgrading to a later release.

Some of the major architectural changes in Siebel Mobile Disconnected are:

  • Available through the Apple App Store and Google Play:
    • Customers can download the Siebel Mobile archive file from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud and then use the archive file to create and deploy a customized Siebel app for iOS and Android mobile devices.
  • Uses a local database (SQLite) for offline metadata and data.
  • Supports attachments offline. The storage of attachments is not part of the local database (SQLite).
  • Provides a server-based utility to convert business service (eScript) to offline JavaScript which cuts down the development time for offline configuration.
  • Employs an in-memory database to enhance performance.
  • Features an enhanced Synchronization architecture with an option that allows users to work in connected or disconnected mode.
  • Clearing the cache will not affect the Siebel Mobile application.
  • Completely redesigned UI for Siebel Field Service Mobile.
  • Other functional enhancements across all mobile applications.
