Handling SOAP Faults in Siebel CRM, Version 8.0 and Earlier

Siebel Business Applications version 8.0 and earlier ignore the schema for the named faults in a WSDL document. These SOAP faults are handled by returning an error code that indicated the occurrence of a SOAP fault. The data returned to the user is a property set with the following:

• Three properties for the faultcode, faultstring, and faultactor subelements as output parameters
• A child of type XML Hierarchy with the application-specific errors from the detail subelement

Siebel Business Applications version 8.0 and earlier do not check for conformance to the original fault schema.
