Adding User Preference Colors to the Dispatch Board Gantt Chart (High-Interactivity Client)

Applet user properties define the colors on the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board. You specify the color definitions using Blue Green Red (BGR) decimal format. For more information about performing configuration tasks with Siebel Tools, see Using Siebel Tools.

Although you can add new colors for user selection on the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board, do not change or deactivate the existing colors. The following activity fields determine the colors that appear on the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board:

  • Priority (LOV type: ACTIVITY_PRIORITY)
  • Status (LOV type: EVENT_STATUS)
  • Type (LOV type: TODO_TYPE)

NOTE:  Do not change or deactivate the values in the LOV types for these activity fields.

This task is a step in Process of Configuring the Dispatch Board (High-Interactivity Client).

To add a user preference color to the Dispatch Board Gantt chart

  1. Log in to Siebel Tools as an administrator.
  2. Lock the FS Dispatch Board project for editing.
  3. In the Object Explorer, navigate to Applet, and query for the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet.
  4. Navigate to Applet, then Applet User Prop.
  5. Create a new applet user property record, and perform the following steps:
    1. In the Name field, enter an appropriate value.

For example, to add a color named Blue Royal, enter the following in the Name field: #Color#Blue Royal#.

    2. In the Value field, enter the value that corresponds to the decimal value for that color.

To get the decimal value for a color, look up the hexadecimal number of the color. For example, #800000 is the HEX number for a dark blue in BGR format. Then, convert the hexadecimal number to a decimal value. For example, the #800000 HEX number for the dark blue is 128 0 0 in decimal BGR format.

  6. Compile the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet, and replace the Siebel Repository File (SRF).
  7. Restart the client, navigate to the Dispatch Board, click the menu button, and select User Preferences.

You can select Blue Royal as a color option.
