Creating Schedules and Related Entities

Business administrators can create schedules and related entities in Siebel Field Service. A schedule is sent to Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1 only if it is associated with an employee in a service region which is scheduled by Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1. If an employee does not have an associated schedule, then the Service Region schedule is synched to the Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1 for that employee.

You can create the schedule record with schedule hours in Siebel Field Service. The schedule is mapped to the Crew Shift template in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1.

In Siebel Field Service there can be multiple Schedule Hours records for each day. However, in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1 there is only one record for Working Hours for each day. The gaps between End Time of one record and Start Time of next record for the same day are captured as Breaks in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1.

NOTE:  Start Day for each must be a day of the week instead of a range, which is not supported by the integration. The integration also does not differentiate between different values in the Type field.

You can also add Exceptions to Schedules. Exceptions map to the Holiday List in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1.

NOTE:  Working exceptions are not supported. The integration does not differentiate between different values in the Type field.

Updates to Schedules and Exceptions in Siebel that are synched to Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1 are updated in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1. For more information, see About Performing Schedule-Related Tasks in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1. For more information about tasks that you perform in Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1, see the documentation for Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1 in About Documentation for Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1.

This task is a step in Process of Administering Schedules Using Siebel Field Service Integration to Oracle Real-Time Scheduler 2.1.
