Saving Records


You can save records in several ways.

NOTE:  If you try to edit a record at the same time as another user, then a warning message appears, and you are unable to change the record until the other user exits the record.

To save a record

  • Do one of the following:
    • When you finish editing or adding a record in a form or a list, step off the record to commit the changes to the database.

      Stepping off the record means leaving it in any way, such as by moving to another record or by using the record navigation buttons.

    • Click the menu button, and then click Save Record.
    • From the application-level menu, choose Edit, then Save Record.

      NOTE:  When you finish editing or adding a record, you can click Enter to commit the changes to the database. However, this action is not a recommended way to save data.
