Recording a Contact Call for a Different Contact at the Time of Signature Capture


A sales representative creates a call for a contact, but prior to saving the signature might need to choose a different contact or change the address of the call. The representative might need to create a call for another contact that they met while waiting for the first contact to arrive.

A representative can change an existing call and tap the Pick and Sign button to quickly navigate back to the Signature Capture view.

A representative can also create a new Call record based on an existing call directly from within the Contact Call view. The created Call records are displayed in the Contacts Call Detail view under Activities. The user is prompted to select the contact name, and tap the Pick and Sign button to capture the signature.

To create a call based on an existing contact call for a new contact

  1. Navigate to the Contacts screen.
  2. Select a Contact record from the list and tap New Call.

    A new contact CALL record is created and the Contact Call Detail view is displayed.

  3. Add sample drop records or choose a Smart Call Template to prepare the sample drops, and tap the Sign button.

    If all the business rules are valid, the signature capture window is launched.

  4. Verify the contact's name, address, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number, and license number displayed in the call header.

To change the contact or address of an existing call

  1. Tap Cancel on Signature Capture view.
  2. Tap the small icon on the Last Name field.

    The Pick Contact applet is displayed. You can query All Contacts and Affiliated Contacts to find the relevant contacts.

  3. Select a contact from the list, and tap the Pick and Sign button to navigate to the Signature Capture view.
  4. Tap Change to display the Pick Contact applet.
  5. Tap the small icon on the Address field.
  6. Select the correct address from the list, and tap OK.
  7. Tap Sign to navigate back to the Signature Capture view.

To create a new Sample Drop contact call based on an existing call

  1. Tap Cancel on Signature Capture view.
  2. Tap New Sample Drop in the Contact Call Detail View.

    The Pick Contact Applet is displayed. You can query All Contacts, Affiliated Contacts, and By Location to find the relevant contacts.

  3. Select a contact from the list, and tap the Pick and Sign button to navigate back to the Signature Capture view.

    NOTE:  Tapping Sample Drop copies the Sample Drop Applet records. Details, Promotional Items and Decision Issues are not copied.

  4. Save the signature of the contact that decrements the inventory and creates sample transaction history records.
