Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services

The webMethods products included with Siebel Partner Web Services and Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services are licensed only for use in combination with the Siebel programs, such that communications that use the webMethods products must include communication with a Siebel Program. Application-to-application integration using the webMethods products included with Siebel Partner Web Services and Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services that does not include communication with a Siebel program is prohibited. For more information about Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services, see the webMethods documentation for the developer product and the administrator consoles for both webMethods Trading Networks and webMethods Business Integrator.

Installing Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services

Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services includes the following components:

• webMethods Developer
• webMethods Trading Networks Console
• webMethods Business Integrator

Brief instructions for installing on each platform are given below. For more information about installation, see the Siebel Business Applications Third-Party Bookshelf.

Installing Under MS Windows

For the Windows platform, the installation for Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services is on Web Client Ancillary Programs (CD 2 of 2) in the directory Thirdpty\webmethods\lang\tools\windows.

To install Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services under MS Windows

1. Copy the following files to a temporary writable directory:
   • install.bat
   • webMethodsimage.zip
   • webMethodsInstaller461.exe
2. Execute install.bat.

Installing on Oracle Solaris

For Oracle Solaris, the installation for Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services is located on Web Client Ancillary Programs (CD 2 of 2) in the directory \Thirdpty\webmethods\lang\tools\solaris.

To install Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services on Oracle Solaris

1. Copy the following files to a temporary writable directory:
   • webMethodsImage-Sol.jar
   • webMethodsInstaller461.jar
2. Enter the following command:

   java -jar webMethodsInstaller461.jar -launchImage webMethodsImage-Sol.jar

Installing on AIX

For AIX, the installation for Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services is located on Web Client Ancillary Programs (CD 2 of 2) in the directory \Thirdpty\webmethods\lang\tools\aix.

To install Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services on AIX

1. Copy the following files to a temporary writable directory:
   • webMethodsImage-Aix.jar
   • webMethodsInstaller461.jar
2. Enter the following command:

   java -jar webMethodsInstaller461.jar -launchImage webMethodsImage-Aix.jar

Troubleshooting Installation

During the installation of Siebel Tools for Partner Web Services, you are prompted for a login or a license key if the installation goes smoothly.

If you are prompted for a login or license key, then the installer is having trouble locating the webMethods installation image file (specified with the -launchImage parameter).

If this problem occurs, when you execute the installer, try specifying the exact directory to which you copied the installation image files.
