Associating Search and Find Results with the Active Record in Siebel High Interactivity

The Associate function enables you to associate two data types that have a parent-child relationship. The Find results can be associated with the Siebel object, where a relationship has been defined between the object types in Siebel Tools, and a value has been populated in the Link Inter Table field. For example, in Siebel Tools, the Service Request Business Object is a parent object of the Solution Business Object Component, and the link between the two objects is set to active, with a value in the Inter Table field. Solution result records can therefore be associated with the active Service Request record on the Dashboard.

If you select a record that has an associated attachment, clicking on the attachment name opens the attachment in its native application. Only one result can be attached to a parent record at any one time.

To associate a Search or Find result record with the active record in Siebel High Interactivity

1. In the application window, display the record with which you want to associate the result record.
2. On the Siebel application toolbar, click the Search button and perform a search or find operation to find the record to attach.

   The records that match your search criteria appear in the Find Results list.

3. In the Find Results list, select the record to associate, then click Attach.

   The results record is attached to the active record in the application window.
