Siebel Security Guide > Changing and Managing Passwords > Changing Passwords in the Siebel Management FrameworkThe Siebel Management Framework is an optional deployment in your Siebel environment that provides the underlying infrastructure components to support the Application Deployment Manager (ADM). During the installation and configuration of the Siebel Management Server or the Siebel Management Agent, you specify a Siebel user who accesses the Siebel Management Server or Siebel Management Agent. If you change the password of this Siebel user, or if you change the Siebel administrator password, then the password change takes effect in the Siebel Enterprise only. In order for the Siebel Management Framework to authenticate the new password, you must replicate the password change in the Siebel Management Framework as described in the procedures in this topic. The appropriate procedure to use to replicate the password change in the Siebel Management Framework varies according to whether or not you selected RC2 encryption to encrypt Siebel user passwords when you configured the Siebel Management Server or Siebel Management Agent:
NOTE: Siebel Management Server runs only on Microsoft Windows but Siebel Management Agent can run on either Microsoft Windows or supported UNIX operating systems. |
