About Siebel Gateway Name Server Authentication

This topic provides an overview of Siebel Gateway Name Server Authentication. All of the server and client side executable programs that connect to the Gateway Name Server, including the Siebel Server, pass a user name and password to the Gateway Name Server for authentication. Setup of this service is done at the time of initial configuration and requires no additional configuration unless, for instance, you change a data source, or chose to use a different means of authentication than that specified during initial configuration.

Configuration changes like these are made in the namesrvr.cfg file, which is located in the GTWYSRVR_ROOT/bin subdirectory of the Siebel Gateway Name Server installation. For more information about authentication for the Siebel Gateway Name Server, see the Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using and Siebel Security Guide. This topic is part of Administering the Siebel Gateway Name Server System Service.
