Integrating with Intelligent Graphic Solution

This chapter provides an overview of Intelligent Graphic Solution (IGS), lists prerequisites, and discusses how to integrate with IGS.

Understanding IGS

IGS is a third-party product that you can purchase separately. It is not a requirement of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Capital Asset Management (CAM) or JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Service Management.

IGS is a graphical tool that can illustrate equipment, buildings, and inventory item assemblies. You can see each item or part in picture format, and in relation to its parents or other components. You can see an entire assembly, select parts from the graphic, and return the item number to the parts list in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

Prerequisites

Before you can use the IGS integration, you must:

Enable the Use Graphical Parts Bookoption in the S/WM System Constants program (P17001).

See Setting Up Service and Warranty Constants.
Provide the first part of the URL for the IGS product using the Integration program (P90CG001):

Note. If you add multiple IGS records, the system only uses the first record.
1. Enter P90CG001 in the Fast Path.
2. On the Integration form, click Add.
3. On the Integration Detail form, enter IGS in the Application Type field.
4. Enter the server name, depending on the installation, in the Server Name field.
  
  Note. Work with the third-party software company to determine the actual address.
Set the IGS processing option to define the mode for the parts applications:
- P13730 - Work Order Parts, for CAM work orders only.
- P17730 - Work Order Parts, which is shared between CAM and Service Management.
- P90CD015 - Work Order Parts, for Service Management work orders only.
  
  Note. Since this is a processing option, different versions can exist, thereby enabling for different modes to be used based on the user. The processing option help text provides a list of the available options. If you leave the IGS processing option blank, the system uses the assy value. Please see the third-party IGS documentation for an explanation of the different modes.
Create a work order to provide the final part of the URL

The system uses the work order header item number, work order equipment number, work order number, and user ID as the final variables in the URL.

Note. If the work order header item number is not available, the system will use the work order equipment number.

Integrating with IGS

This section discusses the programs used to integrate with IGS.

You only need to use one of these procedures to integrate with IGS.

Note. The Start IGS or Call IGS option on the Form menu brings up a new browser window with the IGS product. Information passed to IGS includes the work order number, inventory item number, equipment number and user ID. This is where the integration begins and this document ends. Please see the third-party IGS documentation for additional details.

Integrating Using the Work Order Parts Programs (P13730) and (P17730)

Access the Work Order Parts -<description> form.

Access the Work Order Parts List Revisions form.

Select one of these options:

To view parts in an equipment or inventory assembly in IGS, select Start IGS from the Form menu. View the applicable parts manuals, diagrams, and so on in IGS.
To select parts in an equipment or inventory assembly in IGS and copy them into the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne parts list, select Call IGS or Start IGS from the Form menu, depending on the program you are using to interface to IGS. Select the parts you want to copy, and click the Interface button in IGS. Then select Copy IGS Parts from the Form menu in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

The system reads the data from the WO Parts for IGS Integration table (F3111IGS) and writes the data to the parts list for the work order.

If the part is defined in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, the system adds the part to the parts list using the inventory item number and line type. If the part is not defined in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, the system adds the part to the parts list using a text line type, the IGS part description, and the supplier part number. The parts list also includes the required quantities for the parts you selected.
To find corresponding parts in IGS, select Show Item in IGS from the Row menu. Find the corresponding parts in an equipment or inventory assembly in IGS. This is an inquiry-only option.

Integrating Using the Work Order Parts Program (P90CD015)

Access the Service Work Order - Manage <description> form

On the Parts tab, select one these options:

To view parts in an equipment or inventory assembly in IGS, select Call IGS from the More Form Actions menu. View the applicable parts manuals, diagrams, and so on in IGS.
To select parts in an equipment or inventory assembly in IGS and copy them into the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne parts list, select Call IGS from the More Form Actions menu. Select the parts you want to copy, and click the Interface button in IGS. Then select Copy IGS Parts from the More Form Actions menu in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

If the part is defined in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, the system adds the part to the parts list using the inventory item number and line type. If the part is not defined in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, the system adds the part to the parts list using a text line type, the IGS part description, and the supplier part number. The parts list also includes the required quantities for the parts you selected.
