What’s New and Improved

Oracle Tuxedo Release 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.1.0) includes the following new features and enhancements:

Client/Server Affinity

The Oracle Tuxedo Client/Server Affinity feature provides the flexibility to set up a simple session-aware application model. It creates a "virtual" request routing scope using the Oracle Tuxedo ATMI RPC infrastructure. When a session is established, all subsequent calls are impacted by the routing scope until the session is terminated (explicitly or implicitly). With Client/Server Affinity, you can retain session context resources inside the client/server affinity scope.

Extended ATMI Service Name Length

The maximum Oracle Tuxedo ATMI service name length is increased to 127 characters.

Enhancements

•	Domain retries connection establishment after incorrect password failure

When configured, ON_STARTUP domain gateway continuously re-tries to establish connection to remote domain when domain password pair validation fails.

•	Flexibility to run Oracle Tuxedo as user other than administrator on Microsoft Windows

If configured in Microsoft Windows, processes booted in an Oracle Tuxedo domain are owned by the user who executed the tmboot command, instead of the user who starts the TUXIPC system service. Oracle Tuxedo Software Components

The Oracle Tuxedo software consists of the following components:

•	Oracle Tuxedo ATMI software

The ATMI software enables you to build scalable ATMI applications using either of two programming languages: C or COBOL. This software includes the following components:

•	Oracle Tuxedo ATMI servers

•	Oracle Tuxedo /WS clients

•	Oracle Tuxedo Native clients

•	Oracle Tuxedo .NET Workstation clients

•	Oracle Tuxedo infrastructure

•	Oracle Tuxedo CORBA software

The CORBA software enables you to build scalable CORBA applications in the C++ programming language. This software includes the following components:

•	CORBA C++ servers

•	C++ client and server Object Request Broker (ORB)

•	Oracle Tuxedo object infrastructure

•	Oracle Jolt 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.1.0) software

Oracle Jolt is a Java-based interface to the Oracle Tuxedo system that extends the functionality of existing Oracle Tuxedo applications to include intranet- and Internet-wide availability.

•	Oracle SNMP Agent software

Oracle SNMP Agent for Oracle Tuxedo and Oracle WebLogic Enterprise is a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent that enables Oracle Tuxedo and Oracle WebLogic Enterprise applications to be managed from an Enterprise Management Console.

Supported Platforms

Oracle Tuxedo software runs on the platforms listed in the following sections. Oracle has certified these platforms for development and production use with the Oracle Tuxedo11g Release 1 (11.1.1.1.0) product. Oracle can provide customer support only for these platforms. Note that although Oracle has attempted to implement the Oracle Tuxedo software in a manner that conforms to industry-standards, it is not feasible for Oracle to certify its use with all third-party databases, ORBs, and other products.

Additional software ports and certifications will be made available after the initial release of 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.1.0). Note:

The required stack size for an Oracle Tuxedo server thread has slightly increased, you may need to adjust the thread stack size accordingly in case of stack overflow issues (especially on AIX platform).
