Oracle Real User Experience Insight (RUEI) provides you with powerful analysis of your network and business infrastructure. You can monitor the real-user experience, define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and trigger alert notifications for incidents that violate them.
This document is intended for the following people:
System administrators responsible for the installation of RUEI. This assumes a sound understanding of the Linux operating system.
The person within your organization designated as the RUEI Administrator. This person is responsible for post-installation configuration, and system maintenance.
Some familiarity with network and Web technology is assumed. In particular, you should have a sound understanding of network topology, and a good operational knowledge of your organization's network and application environment.
This guide is organized as follows:
Chapter 1, "Getting Started" introduces RUEI. In particular, how it monitors data traffic, the role of the Reporter and Collector modules, and the supported configurations.
Chapter 2, "Installing the Linux Operating System" describes the procedure for installing the base operating system.
Chapter 2, "Installing the Linux Operating System" describes the procedure for installing all the components required by RUEI.
Chapter 2, "Installing the Linux Operating System" describes the procedure for preparing the server system(s) for RUEI, and installing the RUEI software.
Chapter 2, "Installing the Linux Operating System" describes the procedure for upgrading an existing RUEI 4.5.x or 5.0.x installation to release 5.1
Chapter 6, "Configuring RUEI" describes the procedure for initially configuring RUEI. This procedure is performed by the person within the organization who has been assigned the role of RUEI Administrator.
Appendix A, "The ruei-check.sh Script" provides a detailed explanation of the ruei-check.sh
script. It is strongly that you use this script to verify successful installation, and to troubleshoot any issues that occur during the installation process.
Appendix B, "Troubleshooting" highlights the most common issues encountered when installing RUEI, and offers solutions to quickly locate and correct them. It should be reviewed before contacting Customer Service.
Appendix A, "The ruei-check.sh Script" provides a checklist of actions that should be completed, and the information gathered, before starting to install the RUEI software.
Appendix D, "Third-Party Licenses" contains licensing information about certain third-party products included with RUEI.
