This graphics shows a typical Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) topology and a corresponding Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g topology.

The 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) topology consists of:

• One middle tier application server instance containing Oracle HTTP Server and OC4J. The Oracle SOA Suite 10g components are deployed to the OC4J instance, along with some custom SOA applications.

• A second middle tier application server instance containing Oracle HTTP Server and OC4J. The Oracle WebCenter 10g components and some custom Oracle WebCenter applications are deployed to the OC4J instance.

• A database containing the SOA and WebCenter schemas.

• Two additional application server instances, each running Oracle HTTP Server and OC4J. The two OC4J instances are configured as an OC4J group and some Java EE applications are deployed to the group.

• The entire topology is managed by a single active Application Server Control.

The Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g topology consists of:

• An Oracle WebLogic Server domain, containing Administration server running the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console and Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control.

• One managed server hosting the Oracle WebCenter components and some custom Oracle WebCenter applications.

• A database where the Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle WebCenter 11gschemas are installed.

• Two managed servers hosting the Oracle SOA Suite components. These two managed servers are configured as a single Oracle WebLogic Server cluster. Some custom Oracle SOA Suite applications are deployed to the cluster.
