This figure illustrates how clients and servers connect when some have IPv4, IPv6 or both protocols. The IPv4 only client can connect to the IPv4 only host and the IPv4/IPv6 host. The IPv4/IPv6 client can connect to any host. The IPv6 only client can connect to the IPv6 only host and the IPv4/IPv6 host.
