PeopleSoft Maintenance Management Work Order Attachment Print utilizes the printing capabilities of Oracle Open Office Enterprise Edition (OOO).

You will need to install OOO on the PeopleSoft Process Scheduler server from which you print Work Order attachments. The server should be the same Process Scheduler server from which you print the Work Order Task Details Report. Work Order Attachment printing is only supported from Microsoft Windows-based servers.

It is recommended that OOO be installed with all the default installer options and default installation location. Currently, the default installation location of OOO on a Windows (64-bit) server is C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\Oracle Open Office 3.

After successfully installing OOO, the installer will load the Quickstarter application by default at server start-up. For Work Order Attachment Print to function correctly, this option must be disabled. To disable the option, right-click on the Quickstarter application in the Notification area and deselect the option Load Oracle Open Office During System Start-Up.

Attachment Print command URL

If you have installed OOO using the installer default values and disabled the Quickstarter application, then you are ready to print Work Order Attachments. However, if you chose to install OOO at a different location you must update the URL used by the Work Order Attachment Print feature to initiate OOO to print attachments.

URL identifier WM_ATT_PRINT_CMD must point to the appropriate OOO installation location of the primary OOO executable soffice.exe file, located in subdirectory C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\Oracle Open Office 3\program. For this, you need to update the URL WM_ATT_PRINT_CMD in PeopleTools, Utilities, Administration, URLs.

Ensure that you do not update the remainder of the URL as it is in the required format for the Work Order Attachment Print feature to function. For reference, the original default URL is provided in the URL's Comments field.

Attachment print directory URL

Work Order Attachments will be temporarily downloaded to the server in a holding directory by the Work Order Attachment Print process before getting printed. The URL identifier WM_ATT_PRINT_DIR determines which directory the Work Order Attachments will be downloaded to. After the attachments are printed, they are removed from this temporary directory. The directory will be created on the server by the Work Order Attachment Print process automatically if it does not already exist.

By default, the URL is set to: C:\WMONLATT\. However, if you would like to use a different temporary download holding directory on your server, change this URL to your desired directory in PeopleTools, Utilities, Administration, URLs.
