This diagram shows the data flow using Oracle Single Sign-On. An HTTP client is shown communicating through HTTP with Oracle Single Sign-On and with Oracle HTTP Server, which includes the Apache mods mod_oc4j and mod_osso. The mod_osso module is shown also communicating with Oracle Single Sign-On. The mod_oc4j module is shown communicating with OC4J, through Apache JServ Protocol. Oracle Single Sign-On is also shown communicating with Oracle Internet Directory.

The box for OC4J comprises a Web application (WebApp A1, including servlets s1 and s2), the security provider framework, and the LDAP-based security provider. Within OC4J, the security provider framework is shown communicating with the LDAP-based security provider. External to OC4J, the LDAP-based provider is shown communicating with Oracle Internet Directory.
