Oracle® Beehive RESTful Web Services API Reference Release 2 (2.0.1.7) E16658-04 |
The Conferencing category enables you to control Oracle Beehive's Conference Artifact Service. This service enables you to manage Web conferences, including retrieving information about completed and running Web conference sessions.
Refer to the section "Managing the Conference Artifact Service" in the module "Managing Oracle Beehive Services" in Oracle Beehive Administrator's Guide in Oracle Beehive Documentation Library for more information.
Although Oracle Beehive offers a fully integrated architecture, there are still some differences between services. As a result, working with Conferences through Oracle Beehive RESTful Web Services is slightly different when scheduling a Conference versus starting an ad hoc or instant Conference. The following are some tips developers and administrators should follow when working with the Conference resource:
The following are some tips when working with the Conference resource:
You can schedule a conference by setting the includeOnlineConference
property to true in the meetingCreator representation when creating a Meeting (with the POST method /invt
). You can add Oracle Beehive users and external guests to the event and Conference at that time.
You can create an instant conference with the Conference resource (the POST method /owch
). Although you can add Oracle Beehive users to the Conference at the time of the Conference's creation, you cannot add external guests. To add non-Oracle Beehive users, send the Conference's "Join URL" to the external guests either manually or programmatically. Alternatively, you can create a Meeting corresponding to the current time of the instant Conference, and add all the participants as invitees.
If you want to allow guest users to join the Conference, set the guestsAllowed
property to true (in the conferenceCreator representation) and, if required, set an appropriate Conference Key in the guestKey
property.
By default, Conference recordings are put in the /Documents
directory of the target workspace. The host can change that location during the Conference when the recording is started.
Note that Oracle Beehive Conferencing Client must be installed for users to be able to join the Oracle Beehive Conference. The client can be downloaded from Oracle Beehive Web Conferencing Centre or Oracle Beehive Central Download Centre.
