12 Virtual Directory

This chapter describes Oracle Virtual Directory metrics.

Adapter Metrics

The category specifies the metrics about the currently configured Adapters.

Open Connections

This metric specifies the total number connections opened by a particular Adapter since last collection.

This metric specifies the total number of connections processed by the Adapter.

Enable or disable an adapter using Oracle Directory Services Manager by logging in to Oracle Directory Services Manager, selecting Adapter from the task selection bar, clicking the adapter you want to enable or disable, setting the Active option, and then clicking Apply.

Add Operations

This metric specifies the total number of Add operations performed by a particular Adapter since last collection.

Set connection Activity Limits by selecting Administration from the Oracle Virtual Directory menu and then Server Properties. Select the Enable Quota Enforcement option on the Server Properties page, edit the Maximum Connections per IP Address setting, and then click Apply.

Total Connections

This metric specifies the Total number of connections from a particular IP Address.

This metric specifies the number of connections that are currently open for a particular user.

Set connection Activity Limits by selecting Administration from the Oracle Virtual Directory menu and then Server Properties. Select the Enable Quota Enforcement option on the Server Properties page, edit the Maximum Client Connections, Maximum Connections per Authenticated Subject, and Maximum Connections per IP Address settings, and then click Apply.
