This page includes the system requirements and installation instructions for Oracle Connector for Outlook.
Operating Systems

Note: Administrator privileges are required to install Oracle Connector for Outlook on Windows NT, 2000, and XP.
Disk Space
Free disk space approximately equivalent to the size of your Internet Message Access Protocol 4 (IMAP4) mailbox.
RAM
Refer to the RAM requirements of your Microsoft Outlook client.
Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Outlook 2000
- Microsoft Outlook 2002 with Service Pack 2 (SP2 or higher)
- Microsoft Outlook 2003
- Native Language version or Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Pack is required for non-English version localization.
- To ensure the best possible performance of Oracle Connector for Outlook, install the latest Microsoft Office service packs.

Preinstallation Requirements
- A supported Microsoft Outlook version must be installed on a supported platform.
- Windows NT, 2000, and XP require you to have administrative privileges on your computer in order to install Oracle Connector for Outlook.
- Outlook 2000 must be installed in the Corporate or Workgroup (CWG) mode. To verify your Microsoft Outlook configuration, click the Tools menu and select Options, then Mail Services, then Reconfigure Mail Support.
- To avoid losing information, Oracle recommends that you synchronize your offline folders before upgrading.
Installation Instructions
In most cases, Oracle Connector for Outlook will be installed and configured for you using a silent installation. If Oracle Connector for Outlook has not been installed and configured for you through a silent installation by your administrator, follow the steps in the next procedure.
To Install Oracle Connector for Outlook on Your Desktop:
- Exit all Windows applications before installing Oracle Connector for Outlook.
- Double-click the executable file (con_outlook_x.exe).
- Click Next on the InstallShield wizard's Welcome screen.
- Enter your name under User Name and your company name under Organization. Click Next.
- Click Next to install to the folder shown. To install Oracle Connector for Outlook in a different location, click Change and navigate to the folder where you want to install.
- Select the languages you want to install. Click Add and then click Next.
Note: If you want to add more languages later, after Oracle Connector for Outlook is installed, you can do so by selecting Oracle Connector for Outlook, then Add or Remove Languages from the Start menu on your desktop.
- If you want to review your input from the previous screens, click Back. Otherwise, click Install.
- When you click Finish to complete the installation, the configuration wizard is started. If you prefer to configure Oracle Connector for Outlook later, deselect Launch Configuration, which is selected by default.
Note: If you upgrade the Microsoft Outlook installation, you need to reinstall Oracle Connector for Outlook.
