In Oracle FileSync, when I set up a mapping to local folders, why are some of the Select buttons grayed out?
These are shell folders. They contain only pointers to other folders, and cannot be mapped.

When I save an HTML file from the Oracle Files Web interface, using Internet Explorer, the software downloads graphic and other files with the HTML file, and changes the links in the file. How can I save just the HTML file itself?
If you open an HTML file from the Oracle Files Web UI using Internet Explorer, and then choose File > Save As to download the content, Internet Explorer's default behavior will save the file as type "Web Page, complete." With this file type, any relative links in the HTML file will be rewritten as absolute links, and graphic and other files embedded in the HTML file may be downloaded and saved along with the HTML file. To download and save only the HTML file:
- When saving HTML files from Internet Explorer, in the Save As dialog, make sure the file type is "Web Page, HTML only" or equivalent.
or
- You can also right-click the file from the Oracle Files Browse Files page and choose Save Target As to download and save the file without changes or additions.

Why do my file and folder names display with the characters "%20" instead of spaces?
If you include spaces in a file or folder name, the server will replace each space with the characters "%20", which will make file names, as displayed in your Browser and in e-mail links to the file, longer and harder to read. It is recommended that you use an underscore in file names instead of a space.

Subscriber Administrator: FTP and AFP are not secure protocols, especially for use by Subscriber Administrators.
Users are advised that FTP and AFP are not secure protocols for transmitting information to or from Oracle Files, especially for administrative use. If a Subscriber Administrator must use FTP or AFP, it should be used only for a short time — for instance, for specific file transfers or migrations. WebDAV, SMB/NTFS, and NFS are more secure protocols that can be enabled for your Oracle Files system. For more information, see your Oracle Files Planning Guide and Oracle Files Administrator's Guide.

Perform the following to fix the issue:

I uploaded a file to a particular folder, but Oracle Files saved the file in my Private folder instead.
When your Oracle Files window is inactive for a while, the session may time out. If you upload a file after the session has timed out, Oracle Files uploads the file to your Private folder, regardless of the folder from which you uploaded the file. If this happens, you can move the file to the desired location.

Why are some of my files corrupted when I edit or save over AFP, NFS or NTFS/SMB?
This is a known bug in releases 9.0.3.0 and 9.0.3.1 of Oracle Files. The problem is corrected in software updates available from Oracle. Contact your Site Administrator, or try these workarounds:
- Avoid the problem by copying the file from the mapped drive to a local drive, editing it on the local drive, and then copying it back to the mapped drive.
- Instead of the SMB/NTFS, AFP or NFS protocols, use the WebDAV (Web Folders) protocol, which is not affected by the bug.
