Each Web Conferencing user's system must meet the following requirements:
*Oracle Web Conferencing requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or later to support all features. Using Oracle Collaboration Suite release 9.0.4.2, a limited set of features are supported for other browsers. Using Oracle Collaboration Suite release 10.1.1, Netscape 7.0 or later, Mozilla 1.0 or later, and Firefox 1.0.2 or later can use all conference features. If Internet Explorer 5.5 or later is properly configured on your computer, all features will be supported regardless of the browser used to join a Web conference. To check whether you have the required Java software installed on your machine, do the following:
Please contact your system administrator for information about the Java software your company uses and supports. After you've installed the Java software, verify that it is enabled by following the steps below. To check whether you have Java software enabled, do the following:
In addition to the software requirements noted here, if you are using Oracle Collaboration Suite 9.0.4.1 or 9.0.4.2, you must turn off any pop-up blockers while using Oracle Web Conferencing. Pop-up dialogs appear as you enter a web conference or play back a recording. If you have pop-up blockers turned on, you will not be able to use the dialogs to enter the conference or play the recording. Windows XP Service Pack 2 and recent versions of Internet Explorer include a pop-up blocking feature. To disable pop-up blocking for any pages served by your Web Conferencing server, do the following:

With the computer microphone voice streaming feature, you can broadcast your voice to attendees for conferences you host, and the attendees can listen to your voice through their PC speakers. This is especially useful in a Web seminar or other large conference where the host is the only presenter and there are many attendees. If you record the voice along with the conference, the voice stream is recorded together with the data stream to provide synchronized voice and data recording and playback. If you are the conference host, you can enable voice streaming through your computer microphone as follows:
If you are a conference attendee, you will receive an alert notifying you that listen-only voice streaming is enabled. To hear the presentation being broadcast by the host, do one of the following:

To schedule a conference that allows someone else to join as an acting host, create an acting host key when you schedule the conference. To create an acting host key:
To have another attendee join the conference as the acting host, you must first provide them with the acting host key. They must enter the acting host key instead of the conference key to join or start the conference as acting host. If the conference has already started, the attendee joins as a presenter. If the conference has not yet started, the conference begins with the attendee assigned as host.

If you begin recording a conference, stop the recording, then restart it, the result will be a single recording that merges the two sections you recorded. You might want to use this technique to record the public portions of a conference but omit any confidential portions. For example, you can start recording a conference, then pause recording while discussing confidential information, then restart the recording after the confidential discussion has ended. For an overview of recording, see "How do I record a conference?"

If you see this message when you try to join or start a web conference, there may be a problem with the digital certificates or security files installed on your PC. These files may have been damaged or removed, possibly by a worm or virus. The following steps may help you resolve the problem. Step 1: Run a full virus scan on your PC. Make sure your antivirus files are up-to-date, and then run a full virus scan on your PC. Make sure you scan all files and your entire system. If a worm or virus has infected your PC, check with your antivirus manufacturer for specific instructions or removal tools, and follow all instructions carefully. Once you’ve removed any infections, shut down your system, wait 30 seconds, and then restart. Rescan your entire system to make sure it is virus-free. If necessary, shut down, restart, and rescan until your PC is virus-free. If you still get the message "Digital signature verification failed" when you try to join or start a web conference, certain security files on your PC may be corrupted. Proceed with Step 2. Step 2: Contact your IT department or system administrator for help with re-registering corrupted security files. The following security files may be corrupted on your system and must be re-registered: softpub.dll

If you have difficulty logging in to Web Conferencing, you may see the following error messages:
If these messages appear, it is likely there is a synchronization problem between Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Oracle Web Conferencing. For performance reasons, Oracle Web Conferencing maintains a local copy of some of your user information that also appears in OID. If the information in OID has changed, for example you were assigned a new user name or changed your e-mail address, but OID information has not been synchronized with Oracle Web Conferencing, then you cannot log in with the new or changed information. Contact your system administrator and advise him or her of the problem.

By default, users are loaded into the database as they sign in to Web Conferencing. If you try to invite an attendee who has not yet logged into the system, then the attendee will not be listed as a registered user. Enter the attendee as a guest, or ask the attendee to log into Oracle Web Conferencing once.

Refer to the Oracle Calender online Help for information about how to schedule a Web conference. If your company does not use Oracle Calendar, or you believe the Schedule tab has been suppressed in error, please contact your system administrator.
