The following sections describe how the information in the previous ChorusOS 4.0 (or ChorusOS 4.0.1 where relevant) documentation set maps to the new books in the ChorusOS 5.0 docset. For more information on the content of the new collections and books, see Chapter 3, Documentation Descriptions, Documentation Descriptions.

ChorusOS 5.0 Installation Guide

The ChorusOS 5.0 installation information is now organized as follows:

• Part 1: Installing on the host (README information), setting up boot services.

• Part 2: Building and booting the ChorusOS operating system.

  This part contains information that was previously in the ChorusOS 4.0 (and 4.0.1) Target Family Guides.

ChorusOS 5.0 Transition Guide

This book replaces, updates, and expands the ChorusOS 4.0 Migration Guide.

ChorusOS 5.0 Features and Architecture Overview

This book replaces and expands the ChorusOS 4.0 Introduction.

ChorusOS 5.0 Application Developer's Guide

This book partly replaces the ChorusOS 4.0 Programming Overview. It also covers information formerly in the ChorusOS 4.0 Introduction, ChorusOS 4.0 Networking Guide, and ChorusOS 4.0 Hot Restart Programmer's Guide.

ChorusOS 5.0 Board Support Package Developer's Guide

This book covers information formerly in the ChorusOS 4.0 Porting Guide and in the ChorusOS 4.0 Device Driver Framework.

ChorusOS 5.0 System Administrator's Guide

This book covers information formerly in the ChorusOS 4.0 Networking Guide and in the ChorusOS 4.0 File System Guide.

ChorusOS 5.0 Source Delivery Guide

This book replaces, updates, and expands the ChorusOS 4.0 Production Guide.

ChorusOS 5.0 Target Family Guides

Installation procedures and examples are no longer to be found in these books. These can be found in the ChorusOS 5.0 Installation Guide.

End-of-Life Statements

ChorusOS 4.0 and 4.0.1 calls that were described in Man Pages Section 2SEG: Virtual Memory Segment Services are no longer implemented, therefore they are no longer documented.
