#include <sys/types.h> #include <unistd.h>uid_t getuid(void);
The function or functions documented here may not be used safely in all application contexts with all APIs provided in the ChorusOS 5.0 product.
See API(5FEA) for details.
getuid() returns the real user ID of the calling process.
geteuid() returns the effective user ID of the calling process.
The real user ID is that of the user that has invoked the program.
As the effective user ID gives the process additional permissions during execution of "set-user-ID" mode processes, getuid() is used to determine the real-user-id of the calling process.
The getuid() and geteuid() functions are always successful, and no return value is reserved to indicate an error.
