3.3.1 How to Update the Global Device Namespace

When adding a new global device, manually update the global device namespace by running scgdevs(1M).

Note -

The scgdevs command does not have any effect if the node running the command is not currently a cluster member or if the /global/.devices/node@nodeID file system is not mounted.

  1. Become superuser on any node of the cluster.

  2. Use the scgdevs command to reconfigure the namespace.


    # scgdevs

3.3.1.1 Example--Updating the Global Device Namespace

The following example shows output generated by a successful run of scgdevs.


# scgdevs 
Configuring the /dev/global directory (global devices)...
obtaining access to all attached disks
