This guide contains release notes for the System Management Services (SMS) 1.6 software.


Before You Read This Book

This guide is intended for the Sun Firetrademark system administrator, who has a working knowledge of UNIX® systems, particularly those based on the Solaristrademark Operating System. If you do not have such knowledge, read the Solaris User and System Administrator documentation provided with your system, and consider UNIX system administration training.

All members of the next-generation Sun Fire server family can be configured as loosely-coupled clusters. However, it is currently outside of the scope of this document to address system management for Sun Fire cluster configurations.


Using UNIX Commands

This document might not contain information about basic UNIX commands and procedures such as shutting down the system, booting the system, and configuring devices. Refer to the following for this information:

Book titles, new words or terms, words to be emphasized. Replace command-line variables with real names or values.

Read Chapter 6 in the User's Guide.

These are called class options.

You must be superuser to do this.

To delete a file, type rm filename.
