The test appendix of the Sun x8 Express Quad Gigabit Ethernet UTP Low Profile Adapter User's Guide, part number 820-0115-10, needs to reflect that only SunVTS 6.3 patch set 2 (or later) supports the nxge driver.
Closed: Page 52 of the Sun x8 Express Quad Gigabit Ethernet UTP Low Profile Adapter User's Guide has been updated to change "Use SunVTS 6.3 or later..." to "Use SunVTS 6.3 Patch Set 2 or later..." in the 820-0115-11 issue of this manual.
SunVTS internally uses the following characters specifically as delimiters: comma(,), colon(:) and tilde(~). Do not use these delimiters in any test probe routines (for example: in device specific names). Doing so leads to the SunVTS user interface: the "check box" of the browser interface Group column does not show it being checked. Example of an unacceptable device name: SCSI card "disk,c0t0d0".
Workaround: Select the test after expanding the Group column.
On x64 systems, systest may get an SEGV error on receiving signal 2. This error might also be reproduced when you issue vts_cmd stop during systest execution. This error displays the following message:
Note - This error does not necessarily indicate a hardware fault, but possibly a bug in the Solaris library. |
Workaround: SunVTS 6.3 patch set 2 does not fix this error. To reduce the chances of this error occurring, however, install the following Solaris patches:
Solaris 9 Sparc-S2: 117560-06
Solaris 9 Intel-S2: 117559-06
Solaris 10 Sparc-S2: 120753-05
Solaris 10 Intel-S2: 120754-05
