mailHost
Origin
NetscapeMessaging Server
Definition
Identifies the DNS hostname of the host on which the user's mail account resides. The value specified using this attribute must be the host's fully qualified domain name.
The Messaging Server expects one and only one instance of this attribute per
mailRecipient
entry, or zero or one instances of this attribute on a mailGroup entry.
The Messaging Server uses mailHost information to determine which persons in the directory have an account on the Messaging Server. The Messaging Server can also use this information to determine other Messaging Servers to transfer a message to, if the recipient is not on the local host but exists within the enterprise.
