Origin Netscape Messaging Server
Definition Attribute used by the messaging server that contains a forwarding address for a user. Used most often in conjunction with a gateway or mail server that does not recognize internet addressing. For example, a gateway system that the MS routes to only recognizes john_jones@notes.here.com for a particular recipient. Although jjones@here.com is also recognized, cthe recipient is always passed on as john_jones@notes.here.com. Differs from mailForwardingAddress in that the Routing Address can only be set by the administrator, and is used in the process of locating the mailHost for the user (mailForwardingAddres is only used once the mailHost has been accessed). For example: mailRoutingAddress:bjensen@gateway.arius.com
