nice allows a process in the Solaris Resource Manager CPU scheduling class (SHR) to change the relative rate at which it uses CPU access time. A process that has a higher nice value gets a lower rate of CPU service than processes with lower nice values on the same lnode.
As a special case, processes at the maximum nice value are only given CPU service when no other processes are waiting for CPU access time.
