Sun Update Connection har följande begränsningar:
Solaris-stöd. Sun Update Connection 1.0.x är avsett för Solaris 10-system. Fortsätt använda Sun Patch Manager 2.0 för uppdateringshantering i Solaris 8- och Solaris 9-system.
Zonstöd i Solaris 10. Sedan Sun Update Connection 1.0.4 har Sun Update Manager och kommandot smpatch haft stöd för standardbeteendet för kommandot pkgadd från en global zon i ett system där en eller flera lokala zoner är installerade. Standardbeteendet innebär att du kan använda Update Manager eller alternativen för smpatch-kommandot från den globala zonen för att analysera, hämta, installera och avinstallera uppdateringar i alla zoner i systemet. Update Manager har inte stöd för begäran om att specifika uppdateringar ska installeras eller avlägsnas från specifika zoner. Istället används standardprocessen vilket innebär att uppdateringarna installeras eller avinstalleras i samtliga tillämpliga zoner.
Problem med Sun Online-konto. Ha dessa förslag i åtanke när du använder Sun Update Connection-sviten.
Du måste ange en e-postadress när du registrerar ett Sun Online-konto. Denna e-postadress kommer att användas för alla meddelanden som skickas till dig, t.ex. om du råkar glömma lösenordet och ber Sun om ett nytt (lösenordet återställs och skickas till den angivna e-postadressen). Utan ett Sun Online-konto får du inte tillgång till webbprogrammet i Update Connection. Under registreringen sparar du även önskad språkinställning. Språkinställningar som sparas i webbläsaren i Sun Update Connection bibehålls inte.
Sun-prenumerationsnyckel. I Sun Update Connection 1.0.8 syftar termen prenumerationsnyckel på den alfanumeriska id-strängen i Suns serviceavtal som omfattar support för programvara. Andra termer för denna id-sträng är Sun serviceplan-id, teckensträng och serviceavtalsnummer. Sun Services-representanten kan hjälpa dig att köpa ett supportavtal som omfattar programvarusupport och ge information om ditt nuvarande avtals-id.
