Discretionary Access Policy

The Trusted Solaris environment supports discretionary read, write, execute, and search permission using user, group, and other permission bits; and access control lists (ACLs). Controlling access with DAC and ACLs is part of the Solaris operating environment and not described in great detail in this guide, although retrieving ACLs as a file system security attribute is described in Chapter 2, Getting Started and DAC policy is summarized in "Discretionary Access"
