Sun Management Center 3.5 Performance Reporting Manager User's Guide

Upgrading to Performance Reporting Manager 3.5

If you have an installation of Performance Reporting Manager 3.0 on your system, the earlier software must be uninstalled as part of the upgrade procedure. If you want the Performance Reporting Manager 3.0 data to be upgraded to version 3.5, do not use the Performance Reporting Manager 3.0 es-uninst.sh script to uninstall the earlier software. This script does not offer you the choice to preserve the version 3.0 data.

Instead, use the Sun Management Center 3.5 installation wizard to remove the earlier version 3.0 software while installing the Sun Management Center 3.5 software. The Sun Management Center 3.5 installation wizard asks if you want to preserve your version 3.0 data files before removing the software. If you want to preserve your Performance Reporting Manager 3.0 data files, answer Yes to this question. The installation wizard then proceeds to install the Sun Management Center 3.5 software, and prompts you to select add-on products to install. You must say Yes to the installation of the Performance Reporting Manager 3.5 software. The version 3.0 data will be upgraded to version 3.5 as long you install Performance Reporting Manager 3.5 during the installation of Sun Management Center 3.5.

Note –

If you are upgrading the Sun Management Center 3.0 server, the machine must have either the Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 developer environment installed.
