The following is a known issue when running the Windows 2000 plug-in.

Problems When Creating System Data Source Name Type Components (6303432)

If after creating a Data Source Name (DSN) component, you attempt to create a second one, the value in the com.sun.windows#data source name path might contain the following value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\

When you attempt to check in with the previous value in the path, the following error messages are displayed:

Unable to checkin component
Selected item is not a recognized component of the specified type

Workaround: To obtain the correct DSN values, perform the following steps:

1. Delete the value in the com.sun.windows#data source name path text field.

2. Click the Refresh button to the right of the com.sun.windows#data source name path text field.

3. Select an appropriate DSN.

4. Click the Open Highlighted Item link.

5. Select a DSN from the listed DSN values.

6. Click the Check In Selected Item button.
