This sections describes an installation issue.
If you use the Sun Java System Web Server Plug-In to uninstall the Administration Server, several Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) packages are not uninstalled from Linux servers. If you attempt to reinstall the Administration Server, the remaining RPM packages cause the reinstallation to fail.
Workaround: If you are using the Sun Java System Web Server as part of the complete Java Enterprise System stack, refer to the Java Enterprise System documentation for instructions to remove the RPM packages and any remaining files.
If you are using the Sun Java System Web Server as a standalone product separate from the Java Enterprise System stack, you must manually remove the following items:
Remove the following RPM packages:
Remove the productRegistry file:
% rm -rf /var/opt/sun/install/productregistry |
Remove any remaining files from the directory in which you installed the Sun Java System Web Server. The default directory is /opt/sun.
% rm -rf /opt/sun/private |
% rm -rf /opt/sun/webserver |
% rm -rf /opt/sun/shared |
