Group Start Fails When Remote Agent Runs In UTF-8 or EUC Locales

The SAP Central Instance group fails to start when the Remote Agent on Central Instance system is running in either the UTF-8 or EUC locale. Group start works if the Remote Agent runs in the following locales:

• C

• de_DE.ISO8859-1

• de_DE.ISO8859-15

This also happens when starting database or Application Server groups.

Workaround: If your environment is in either UTF-8 or EUC locales, you need to change the locale to either C, en_US, or ISO* single-byte locales to run the SAP Remote Agents.
