The Sun JavaTM System Web Server man pages describe the Sun Java System Web Server command line interface (CLI). The administration commands allow you to administer the Web Server through the CLI.
This book is intended for Web Server administrators. This book assumes you are familiar with the following topics:
Installing software
Performing basic system administration tasks
Issuing commands in a terminal window
Web Server can be installed as a stand-alone product or as a component of Sun Java Enterprise System (Java ES), a software infrastructure that supports enterprise applications distributed across a network or Internet environment. If you are installing Web Server as a component of Java ES, you should be familiar with the system documentation at http://docs.sun.com/coll/1286.2.
The Web Server documentation set describes how to install and administer the Web Server. The URL for Web Server documentation is http://docs.sun.com/coll/1653.2. For an introduction to Web Server, refer to the books in the order in which they are listed in the following table.
