What information does a session id contain?

The session id consists of a number of fields, including:

• Version of address format

• Unix pid of process

• RPC Transient Program Number

• Unused version (compatibility holdover)

• Authorization level

• User id

• Host IP address

• RPC version

The format of a session id is a private interface. Do not write ToolTalk clients that depend on the format of a session id.
