Examining the Installed or Uninstalled Product Components

If you have installed product components but are having problems and cannot reinstall or uninstall, check the packages installed using the Solaris pkginfo command or the Linux rpm command. Compare the results with the Communications Suite packages listed in Chapter 5, List of Installable Packages, in Sun Java Enterprise System 5 Installation Reference for UNIX. On Solaris 9 and Solaris 10, you can also use the prodreg tool which provides a graphical interface to the product registry that indexes both components and their packages, superseding the pkg utilities. To invoke prodreg, type the command name at the command line. For more information, refer to the prodreg(1) man page.
