Become superuser.
On each endpoint involved in the link, type:
# pkginfo | grep ppp |
If 32-bit PPP is installed, the following package names are displayed:
SUNWapppr PPP/IP Asynchronous PPP daemon configuration files SUNWapppu PPP/IP Asynchronous PPP daemon and PPP login service SUNWpppk PPP/IP and IPdialup Device Drivers |
If 64-bit PPP is installed, the following package names are displayed:
SUNWapppr PPP/IP Asynchronous PPP daemon configuration files SUNWapppu PPP/IP Asynchronous PPP daemon and PPP login service SUNWpppk PPP/IP and IPdialup Device Drivers SUNWpppkx PPP/IP and IPdialup Device Drivers (64-bit) |
If PPP is not installed on an endpoint system, install it using either the pkgadd program or admintool software manager.
When using pkgadd to install PPP, you must install the packages in the order listed.
Refer to System Administration Guide, Volume 1 for more information about pkgadd and admintool software manager.
