If a system is installed with the Solaris 8 Software 1 of 2 CD, you may be prompted to configure the system using the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). If you select DHCP, the installation fails. The following message is displayed:
The IP address previously set on the network interface is no longer available. |

Using the Web Start installation program
With a static IP address
Workaround: Configure the system to use DHCP after the installation has completed, use the Web Start installation program, or install the system using a Net Install server.
