第 7 章 マニュアルに関する情報

この章では、Solaris 8 のマニュアルに関する補足・訂正情報や、注意事項について説明します。

Solaris 8 1/01 INSTALLATION (Multilingual) CD に含まれる Solaris Web Start 3.0 の Kiosk および Solaris 8 1/01 DOCUMENTATION CD (アジア言語版) に含まれている『Solaris 8 1/01 ご使用にあたって (Intel 版)』、および印刷マニュアルの『Solaris 8 1/01 ご使用にあたって (Intel 版)』の作成後に見つかった、以下のバグの情報が追記されています。

注 -

今回の Solaris の製品名称は「Solaris 8 1/01」ですが、コード、パス名、パッケージパス名などで、「Solaris 2.8」または「SunOS 5.8」という名称が使用されていることがあります。コード、パス、パッケージパスなどを実際に入力または使用するときには、必ずマニュアル中に記述されている名称に従ってください。

マニュアルの訂正・補足と注意事項

『Solaris 8 のソフトウェア開発 (追補)』の「ネットワークデバイス用のドライバ」 (バグ ID: 4398700)

「ネットワークデバイス用のドライバ」の章の 33 ページに記載されているシンボル名 GLD_PROMISC_MULTI、GLD_PROMISC_NONE、GLD_PROMISC_PHYS は正しくありません。誤ったシンボル名を使用して GLD ベースのネットワークドライバを記述すると、ドライバをコンパイルできません。

各シンボル名の記述は、以下のように読み換えてください。

英語以外の言語用の新機能リスト (バグ ID: 4389948)

英語以外の言語に翻訳された新機能リストが、Solaris Web Start 3.0 の Kiosk に含まれていません。

回避方法: 日本語版の新機能リストについては、『Solaris 8 デスクトップユーザーズガイド (追補)』、『Solaris 8 のシステム管理 (追補)』、『Solaris 8 のソフトウェア開発 (追補)』、『Solaris 8 のインストール (追補)』の「新機能の概要」を参照してください。

『Solaris 8 1/01 ご使用にあたって (Intel 版)』の関連マニュアルの名前

Solaris 8 1/01 DOCUMENTATION CD (アジア言語版) に含まれている 『Solaris 8 1/01 ご使用にあたって (Intel 版)』の「はじめに」の「関連マニュアル」にあるマニュアル名に誤りがあります。マニュアル名は、以下のように読み換えてください。

『CDE User's Guide』(AnswerBook2) (バグ ID: 4356456)

スペイン語、イタリア語、ドイツ語の『CDE Users's Guide』(AnswerBook2) において、一部のグラフィックが正しく表示されません。

回避方法： http://docs.sun.com 上の『CDE Users's Guide』を参照してください。

AnswerBook2 Help Collection

AnswerBook2 ソフトウェアはバージョン 1.4.3 にアップグレードされましたが、「AnswerBook2 Help Collection」中のマニュアルでは、バージョン 1.4.2 と記述されています。バージョン番号以外については、正しい情報が記載されています。

マニュアルページ usbprn(7D) (バグ ID: 4347481)

usbprn(7D) デバイスドライバを使用する USB 印刷は、Intel 版 Solaris 8 1/01 リリースでサポートされません。

usbprn(7D) マニュアルページの「属性 (ATTRIBUTES)」の節には、「アーキテクチャ (Architecture)」の属性値として、「PCI 対応のシステムのみ (Limited to PCI-based systems)」がサポートされると記載されていますが、これは誤りです。正しくは、「PCI 対応の SPARC システムのみ (Limited to PCI-based SPARC systems)」がサポートされます。

『Solaris 8 デバイスの構成 (Intel 版)』『man pages section 7: Device and Network Interfaces』 の adp(7D) と cadp(7D)『Solaris 8 オペレーティング環境の概要』

上記のマニュアルには、次に示すような内容の情報が記述されています。

この情報には一部誤りがあります。以下に訂正・補足情報を示しますす。

次に示す Adaptec の Ultra SCSI デバイスは、(cadp ドライバではなく) adp ドライバによってサポートされています。

これらの Ultra SCSI デバイスは、PCI ホットプラグ機能をサポートしていません。ただし、cadp ドライバによってサポートされている Ultra 2 SCSI デバイスは、PCI ホットプラグをサポートしています。

『Solaris 8 デバイスの構成 (Intel 版)』

「Adaptec AHA-2940AU, 2940U, 2940U Dual, 2940UW, 2940UW Dual, 2940U2, 2940U2B, 2940U2W, 2944UW, 2950U2B, 3940AU, 3940AUW, 3940AUWD, 3940U, 3940UW, 3944AUWD, 3950U2B ホストバスアダプタ」の「構成前の注意事項」において、上から 9 個目および 10 個目に記述されている情報は、次に示す内容に読み変えてください。

『Solaris 8 のインストール (上級編)』(バグ ID: 4327931)

「ネットワーク上で Solaris ソフトウェアをインストールする準備」の「ブートサーバーをサブネット上で作成する方法」において、Solaris 8 SOFTWARE 2 of 2 CD と Solaris 8 LANGUAGES CD を使用するように記述されていますが、これは誤りです。これらの CD を使用すると、次のエラーメッセージが表示されます。


An existing install server cannot be found at /image_name.
This tool can only add packages to an install server that already exists.

「ブートサーバーをサブネット上で作成する方法」に記述されている手順を実行するときには、手順 6 から手順 15 を飛ばしてください。

[日本語環境のみ] 『Solaris 8 ハードウェア互換リスト (Intel 版)』

DOCUMENTATION CD (アジア言語版) および http://docs.sun.com 上の『Solaris 8 ハードウェア互換リスト (Intel 版)』の「Solaris 検証プログラム」において、「互換ハードウェアリストは、http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/hcl.html で参照できます。」または「互換ハードウェアリストは、http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/hcl で参照できます。」と記載されています。これらの URL へのリンクをクリックしても、互換ハードウェアリストのページが表示されません。また、前者の URL http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/hcl.html は正しくありません。

回避方法： Web ブラウザで、表示する URL として http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/hcl または http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/hcl_ja を手動で入力してください。互換ハードウェアリストのページが表示されます。

[日本語環境のみ] 『日本語入力システムの概要とセットアップ』(バグ ID: 4363792)

「セットアップとファイル」の 「ATOK12 セットアップとファイル構成」において、複数の入力サーバーが動作している場合の ATOK12 の指定方法が記述されていますが、環境変数 XMODIFIERS の値として指定する内容の記述に誤りがあります。以下のように読み替えてください。

[日本語環境のみ] 『Solaris のシステム管理 (第 1 巻)』(バグ ID: 4362189)

「ファイルとファイルシステムのバックアップ (手順)」の「テープにバックアップをとる方法」の手順 7 に記載されている表の中の、「例」の記述内容が一部正しくありません。正しくは次に示すとおりです。

セクション 3x の日本語マニュアルページを表示しようとしてセクション指定オプションなしで man コマンドを実行すると、以下の例に示すように、マニュアルページが表示されません。

例: jconv(3x) の場合


# man jconv
マニュアルには jconv のエントリがありません。

回避方法： セクション 3x のマニュアルページを表示する場合は、man コマンドの実行時に、-s オプションを使用してセクション名 3x を指定してください。

例: jconv(3x) の場合

なお、この例で man コマンド実行時に表示される "ディレクトリ名は 3curses に変わりました" というメッセージは、上記のマニュアルページには該当しないので無視してください。

[日本語環境のみ] contrast の日本語マニュアルページが提供されている (バグ ID: 4314213)

/usr/openwin/bin/contrast は提供されなくなったのに、その日本語マニュアルページが提供されています。

回避方法：contrast の日本語マニュアルページは無視してください。

[日本語環境のみ] dtpower の日本語マニュアルページが表示されない (バグ ID: 4318868)

日本語ロケール環境で dtpower のマニュアルページを参照する場合、マニュアルページの検索パス (環境変数 MANPATH) の順番で /usr/dt/share/man が /usr/openwin/share/man より先になっていると、英語のマニュアルページが表示されてしまいます。

回避方法：dtpower の日本語マニュアルページを参照するには、MANPATH 環境変数で /usr/openwin/share/man を /usr/dt/share/man より先に指定して下さい。または、以下の方法でも dtpower の日本語マニュアルページを参照できます。


% man -M /usr/openwin/man dtpower

smdiskless のマニュアルページ (バグ ID: 4384483)

smdiskless のマニュアルページ smdiskless(1M) の記述に誤りがあります。それぞれ以下のように読み換えてください。
