This section contains general issues and specific issues concerning the Sun SNMP Management Agent Version 1.6.2 software.
This section describes general known issues about this release of Sun SNMP Management Agent software that are broader than a specific change request (CR) number. Workarounds are provided where available.
Before you run the SNMP daemon, restart the Platform Information and Control Library (PICL) daemon by typing:
# svcadm restart picl
On sun4v servers, running the SNMP MASF and the Sun Management Center software at the same time is not supported.
This section summarizes the bugs that you might encounter when using this version of the software. The issue descriptions are in numerical order by change request (CR). Workarounds are provided where available.
If the SNMP software performs an snmpget command on the object sunPlatCircuitPackHotSwappable for Fan Module 5, the true(1) variable is returned. This is incorrect. Fan Module 5 is not hot swappable. The server has to be powered off to replace Fan Module 5.
Workaround: None
When the MASF SNMP agent is configured as a subagent of SMA and started, you will see an error message on the console similar to this:
# Jun 10 12:46:07 dt88-192 snmpd[3258]: registering pdu failed: 263! Jun 10 12:46:07 dt88-192 last message repeated 64 times
Workaround: You can safely ignore these error messages.
In a SPARC T3-1B server, the FRU data is not displayed when a NEM or a power supply is hotplugged.
Workaround: Type this ILOM CLI command to obtain the FRU data:
-> show FRU-NAC-name fru_serial_number
